About The Position

This role is for a Manager, Land Development in Calgary. The ideal candidate is driven, detail-oriented, and enjoys being a central point of communication. This position involves managing multiple high-quality projects and shaping communities. The manager will cultivate and maintain relationships with industry consultants, be proactive, demand accountability, and enjoy challenges and problem-solving. Experience in due diligence, community planning, municipal entitlements, budgeting, financial underwriting, cost controls, construction, and real estate sales is essential.

Requirements

• A passion for the real estate industry and a desire to join a best-in-class team to achieve results for Anthem and its partners.
• 8+ years of experience in land development and/or consulting experience.
• Post-secondary degree related to the real estate industry.
• Thorough understanding of the land development process.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A valid Driver’s License and access to a vehicle.

• Experienced in all aspects of the real estate business, including due diligence, community planning, municipal entitlements, budgeting & financial underwriting, cost controls, construction, and real estate sales.

Responsibilities

• Manage the acquisition, planning, entitlement, and development of residential and industrial master-planned communities across the Calgary region.
• Oversee all aspects of a land development project, from community vision and financial pro forma to invoices, budgets, schedules, and government approvals.
• Lead multi-disciplinary consultants and contractors through the land development process, seeking innovative solutions and efficiencies.
• Collaborate internally and externally to ensure projects remain on schedule, on budget, and on vision.
• Facilitate weekly construction meetings, applying knowledge of construction to ensure safe and cost-effective project delivery.
• Provide exceptional customer experience for business partners and community residents.
• Stay current on the housing market and competitive environment.
• Represent the company at industry events, client events, and stakeholder functions.
• Champion continuous improvement and find new and better ways of doing things.
