About The Position

This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position. The manager oversees departmental operations of the Laboratory under the direction of the Director. Responsibilities include administrative duties such as oversight and compliance of point of care testing and affiliated offsite areas. The role involves monitoring operations to ensure safe, efficient, and quality performance standards for employees, patients, and visitors. Collaboration with nursing, administrative, medical, and other staff is necessary to coordinate patient care activities, support the facility's mission statement, achieve customer satisfaction, and identify system problems as opportunities for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized college or university in Medical Technology or a closely related field is Required.
  • 5 years of clinical experience, including at least two (2) years with supervisory responsibilities, preferably in an acute care hospital setting is Required.
  • Demonstrated clinical competency in the specialty area applying for Required.
  • Management of Clinical Laboratory only: Certification in medical technology; certification as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), AMT (American Medical Technologists) or AAB (American Association of Bioanalysts). AAB provisional certification not accepted Required.
  • Management of Anatomic Pathology (Cytology/Histology): Certification in histology; certification as a Histotechnologist HTL, Histotechnician HT and/or Cytologist CT by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree of Business Administration or Health Administration is Preferred.
