Job Description The Laboratory Asset Management Program (LAMP) Manager will be responsible for overseeing the performance of a contracted third-party vendor that manages Gilead laboratory equipment inventory, preventive maintenance, calibration, repairs, and asset data. This role ensures that the vendor delivers high-quality, compliant, and cost-effective asset management services that ultimately meet the needs of the scientific community. The manager will act as a bridge between the internal laboratory leads and the vendor, ensuring service alignment, contract compliance, GxP compliance, and continuous improvement across the asset management program.

Requirements

  • Understanding of scientific laboratory equipment and its operational needs
  • Familiarity with PM, calibration, and asset lifecycle concepts
  • Strong analytical ability for KPI tracking, trending, and reporting
  • Strong communicator and stakeholder management with cross-functional communication abilities with facilities, space planning, and finance teams
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Doctorate OR Master’s and 4+ years of experience in lab operations, facilities management, vendor management, or similar roles OR Bachelor’s and 6+ years of experience in lab operations, facilities management, vendor management, or similar roles
  • Ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while fostering a dynamic work culture founded on trust and having a proactive mindset
  • Comfortable managing multiple stakeholder groups and show the ability to communicate complex workflows to internal functional leads
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential
  • Strong understanding (advanced skills) of Word, Excel, & PowerPoint
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership in areas of responsibility

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, engineering, or operations field preferred
  • Experience in life sciences, biotech, pharma, diagnostics, or academic environments preferred
  • Experience with CMMS/asset management platforms and work order triage
  • Experience with audits, regulatory environments, or quality systems is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a program point of contact for the lab leads and lab asset management vendor
  • Monitor vendor performance against SLAs, KPIs, asset inventory data accuracy, and contractual obligations
  • Address service issues, escalations, and inconsistencies to ensure timely resolution
  • Ensure the vendor maintains accurate asset data, documentation, and compliance readiness
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, facilitate discussions, influence effectively, and develop relationships; problem solve, implement process improvement efforts and projects and follow-up as needed to meet deadlines
  • Partner with internal and vendor finance teams to track budget accruals and ensure alignment with monthly actuals and annual forecasts
