Reporting to the Director, Employee Relations and Job Evaluation, the Manager, Job Evaluation and Organizational Design, will plan and manage the Government of Nunavut’s (GN) Job Evaluation and Organization Design program ensuring that all the positions are evaluated against the established evaluation system in fair and equitable manner. The position provides expert advice and counsel to departments regarding the functional effectiveness of organizational or job design strategies and, through the Department’s executive, to Cabinet concerning proposed re‑organizations in the GN. The manager is responsible for identifying and designing career ladders through organizational design within departments and/or between departments. These ladders are intended to further Inuit employment and, through the development of families of occupations with career progression within them, the position also helps to improve staff retention.
