About The Position

The Manager IT Business System directs, administers and coordinates service development for business systems applications. The incumbent accomplishes this by building and leveraging effective collaborative relationships with key internal and external to identify needs and ensure that those needs are met by the system. The incumbent ensures the integrity of the systems, resolves operational issues, and captures and maintains relevant business process information. Responsible for all aspects of operations including service delivery, fiscal administration, and allocation of personnel and accomplishing departmental objectives. This will have a significant role in the administration or preparation of the departments or the organization's budget.

Requirements

  • Generally requires 5 to 7 years of Information Technology related experience.
  • Previous management/supervisory experience, including budgeting, required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems or a related field.
  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with critical thinking and professional composure.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Ability to exercise sound and independent judgment.
  • Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications.

  • Experience with the management of large complex projects preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Directs the needs analyses for administrative areas of JHS and leads the definition, design and implementation of complex system solutions for automation.
  • Manages these systems to ensure their accuracy, reliability and integrity.
  • Collaborates with Director of Applications to develop and implement departmental goals and objectives, make recommendations for operational and strategic planning, report project status to senior leadership, develop and implement operational policies and procedures.
  • Provides leadership and participates in: selection of new software, developing best practices, project definition and management.
  • Models Leadership Practices of the organization.
  • Proactively manages the department's staffing plan assuring cost effective staffing that meet customer needs and system implementation timelines.
  • Enforces IT Division standards, guidelines and methodologies for project management, change management and documentation.
  • Provides project leadership/management.
  • Establishes project work teams and ensures project accountability.
  • Develops/reviews detailed implementation plans and estimates for projects and monitors project progress.
  • Establishes strong customer services and creates positives relationships with stakeholders.
  • Serves as the liaison between IT and to user groups to investigate and resolve customer service issues.
  • Develops and maintains communication systems that exceed customer expectations.
  • Assures compliance with AHCA, JCAHO and other regulatory agencies.
  • Effectively manages acquisition, maintenance and utilization of software, equipment and supplies.
  • Effectively implements the operations budget demonstrating fiscal responsibility.
  • Reports variance to the Corporate Director of Applications and communicates variances to department leaders and staff.
  • Directs activities of integration teams and as well as other IT teams as assigned.
  • Manages the human resources activities including staff recruitment, retention, recognition, performance, and review staff development activities.
  • Provides performance feedback to employees on a regular basis and completes timely employee performance appraisals.
  • Develops and implements effective quality improvement initiatives through written work plans to determine clinical information system's impact on costs and quality of care.
  • Manages overall effectiveness of applications by understanding available functionality, options and possible alternatives for all installed software.
  • Performs all other related job duties as assigned.
