This critical position is specifically situated within the Investment Manager Research segment, an area central to our strategic success and client offerings. The ideal candidate will bring experience in the financial services or investment management industry. This role requires an understanding of investment manager research methodologies, and the landscape of investment managers. This position offers an opportunity to support the execution, development, and administration of our proprietary research tools and platforms. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring our research capabilities remain best-in-class and directly support the needs of our investment advisory and portfolio management teams. The role will also encompass execution support for intricate research projects and strategic initiatives, including providing analytical support. The ideal candidate thrives in a multi-functional environment and possesses a deep understanding of investment products and the competitive landscape. This role is deeply integrated within the team and works in close partnership with the Senior Manager, Investment Research and Solutions, taking day-to-day functional direction from the Senior Manager to ensure operational execution is fully synchronized with the team's broader strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in investment manager research, product development/ management, or manager research.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in investment manager due diligence, monitoring, and selection processes.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in investment research and performance platforms (e.g., eVestment, Morningstar, and Bloomberg).
  • Proven ability to support the execution of strategic product research projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in developing clear and compelling product positioning and documentation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; CFA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research, quantitative screening, and qualitative evaluation, and ongoing monitoring of external investment managers and sub-advisors. This includes conducting site visits, analyzing performance attribution, and preparing comprehensive due diligence reports for the Investment Committee.
  • Assist in the development of product positioning, key messaging, and sales narratives based on thorough market research and competitive intelligence.
  • Utilize quantitative and qualitative data to support decision-making, including Prepare and maintain data reports and assist in peer group analysis, and generating insights to guide development efforts.
  • Support the team by providing research-based insights and data to help define product concepts and solutions, ensuring alignment with the firm's overall investment philosophy and strategic objectives.
