About The Position

The Manager, Investigation & Enforcement is responsible for leading the delivery of rigorous, timely and legally robust investigations and enforcement actions that comply with legislative requirements, meet community expectations and withstand internal and external scrutiny. A core focus of the role is driving the centralisation and improvement of compliance, investigation and enforcement functions across the Child Safe, Working with Children Check and Reportable Conduct schemes. This work strengthens consistency, efficiency and regulatory maturity across the OCG. We are seeking a motivated and resilient person to: Provide strategic leadership that ensures investigations and enforcement outcomes are rigorous, timely and defensible, strengthening public trust and safeguarding children. Drive a consistent and integrated regulatory approach across the Child Safe, WWCC and Reportable Conduct schemes, enhancing the OCG’s overall regulatory capability and maturity. Oversee and guide the resolution of complex and high‑risk matters to ensure decisions are well‑reasoned, proportionate, transparent and aligned with legislative obligations and the public interest. Build and sustain a high‑performing Investigations & Enforcement team through effective leadership, capability uplift and embedding of professional standards.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, planning, organisational and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working at a senior or executive level in a complex organisation delivering specialist and authoritative advice to executive leadership.
  • Well-developed investigation skills supported by a comprehensive understanding of legislation, guidelines and principles governing complex investigations.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with demonstrated ability to lead, support and develop a high‑performing investigation team operating in sensitive, high‑risk environments.
  • Proven experience providing strategic oversight of major investigation activities, ensuring high standards of consistency and integrity in the handling of serious matters.
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications or demonstrated, relevant, equivalent professional experience.
  • All roles within the Office of the Children's Guardian are required to have a current Working with Children Check.
  • Employment at the Office of the Children’s Guardian is subject to the satisfactory completion of security and vetting checks
