About The Position

This role is responsible for managing the day-to-day functions of the inventory control department and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the Distribution House's inventory, inventory systems, and processes. The position provides direct and administrative supervision to the entire inbound or outbound team, creates and implements operating systems and audits to support sales order fulfillment accuracy, and maintains efficiency standards throughout distribution processes. The Manager ensures customer product compliance, accurate labeling of outbound product, and performs random checks of customer orders for quality and quantity. They achieve responsibilities through effective planning and execution from all teammates, ensuring high quality, safety, cost, and delivery. The role also supports a safe work environment, identifies process improvements using Continuous Improvement Tools and Techniques, develops efficient space planning for storage areas, and ensures overall and individual department goals are met. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning work, appraising performance, rewarding/disciplining employees, and resolving problems in accordance with company policies and laws.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.), Four-year college or university with typically 8 years of experience; or 12 years relevant experience and/or training
  • Typically 1-3 years of management experience
  • Skilled with database/spreadsheet programs, and specifically MS Office programs (MSWord, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the apparel industry strongly preferred
  • Experience Manhattan WM strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct and administrative supervision to the entire inbound or outbound team.
  • Creates and implements appropriate operating systems and audits to support the accuracy of sales order fulfillment
  • Creates and maintains required efficiency standards throughout all processes within distribution
  • Ensures that customer product is compliant according to compliance manuals
  • Ensures accurate labeling/ticketing of outbound product
  • Performs random checks of customer orders to ensure the accuracy of quality and quantity in an order
  • Accomplishes all responsibilities by effective planning and execution from all teammates within departments ensuring the utmost possible quality, safety, cost and delivery
  • Supports and drives a safe and clean safe work environment
  • Identifies internal processes and procedures within the department to utilize Continuous Improvement Tools and Techniques to reach the strategic objectives of the operation as well as to accommodate and create increased demand/capacity
  • Develops efficient space planning for the storage areas
  • Ensures the overall goals are achieved, as well as the individual goals of the department
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
