About The Position

IWK Health is seeking an experienced and visionary healthcare leader to join their Interprofessional Practice, Policy & Learning (IPPL) team as Manager, Interprofessional Clinical Services. This role reports to the Director of Interprofessional Practice and provides strategic and operational leadership for interprofessional practice, clinical policy, and after-hours interprofessional services across the organization. The Manager plays a key leadership function in advancing evidence-informed practice, collaborative models of care, professional standards, and quality patient outcomes. The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of interprofessional practice strategies with a focus on models of care and oversee organizational clinical policies and documentation standards to ensure alignment with evidence-based practice, accreditation requirements, legislative obligations, and professional standards. This role has direct operational responsibility for after-hours service delivery and coordination. The Manager will foster strong partnerships across the organization and externally with academic institutions, professional associations, system partners, and community partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a regulated health profession.
  • Master's Degree in a relevant field, or willingness to actively pursue graduate education.
  • Current registration and good standing with an applicable professional regulatory body.
  • Minimum five (5) years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive leadership or management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams in complex healthcare environments.
  • Strong knowledge of professional practice standards, healthcare legislation, and accreditation requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, influence practice, and drive organizational improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and advance evidence-based interprofessional practice across the organization.
  • Provide expert consultation and mentorship on professional and interprofessional practice issues.
  • Support development, implementation, and evaluation of integrated models of care.
  • Collaborate with professional practice leaders, educators, managers, and physicians to strengthen team-based care.
  • Promote innovation, quality improvement, and patient and family-centred care approaches.
  • Provide organizational leadership for clinical policy governance and documentation standards.
  • Lead development, implementation, review, and evaluation of interprofessional clinical policies.
  • Ensure policies reflect professional standards, legislative requirements, accreditation standards, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders to identify policy priorities and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide direct leadership to staff within the portfolio, including Social Work, Clinical Nutrition, Physiotherapy, administrative support staff, and policy consultants.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, retention, performance management, succession planning, and professional development activities.
  • Support workforce planning and service delivery models, including after-hours coverage.
  • Promote a positive, healthy, and inclusive work environment.
  • Build and sustain collaborative relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Partner with academic institutions and system partners to support research, education, and workforce development.
  • Contribute to organizational, provincial, and national initiatives advancing interprofessional practice.
  • Develop and manage operational budgets in collaboration with the Director.
  • Monitor financial performance and utilization of resources.
  • Develop business cases and recommendations to support service enhancements and new initiatives.
  • Ensure responsible management of trust funds and family support funding in accordance with auditing requirements.
