About The Position

We’re looking for a Manager, International Tax, to join our growing tax team! Reporting to the Director, International Tax, you will be a key member for international tax compliance and planning.

Requirements

  • CPA designation desired; completion or in the process of completing the CPA in-depth tax program. Candidates with a Master of Taxation would also be considered
  • Minimum 3 years corporate tax experience preferably focused on outbound international tax matters
  • Experience working in a multinational Canadian company and/or large or mid-sized public accounting firm
  • Working knowledge of foreign affiliates and FAPI rules
  • Experience in dealing with cross border transactions
  • Strong project management and organization skills
  • English with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada from the anticipated start date and throughout their employment and are solely responsible for maintaining their work eligibility.

Nice To Haves

  • French is an asset but not required

Responsibilities

  • Handle international tax issues (including FAPI, repatriation, and withholding taxes) and conduct tax research
  • Implement plans, strategies and projects in the international tax area including solutions to deal with legislative changes
  • Handle/prepare Canadian international tax related compliance and foreign tax filings (including Pillar 2, T1134, CbCR and surplus calculations)
  • Assist in quarterly financial reporting of international tax matters
  • Deal with tax authorities regarding audits/other inquiries
  • Review foreign transactions to mitigate adverse tax impact
  • Liaise with finance teams and other departments in the organization
  • Assist in tax due diligence on foreign transactions
