The International Tax and Transaction Services practice is comprised of three competencies focused on advising corporate and private equity clients on all aspects of their capital agenda – Transaction Tax Advisory, International Corporate Tax Advisory and Transfer Pricing. ITTS is unique in that it is a joint venture between the Transaction Advisory Services and Tax service lines allowing ITTS to maximize market opportunities as well as the growth and development of ITTS professionals. The transactions market is a major part of EY’s market strategy and a huge opportunity for both the business and EY professionals. The International Corporate Tax Advisory competency (ICTA) is responsible for advising clients on international tax operations, including cross-border controversy, international policy advisory, international tax quantitative services, internal restructuring and refinancing. As a Manager in Cross Border Tax, you will advise on complex cross-border tax issues and help clients strategically align different areas of taxation. You’ll build investment models, support cross-border investment methods and disputes, and contribute to corporate acquisitions. Your work will guide foreign entities on cross-border planning strategies, operational risk, and supply-chain projects while assessing the potential consequences of client positions using relevant legal authorities for specific jurisdictions. You’ll review and identify issues such as taxation of foreign income, tax treaty implementations, permanent establishments, and withholding tax implications. You will drive complex planning, implementation, and structuring/restructuring projects and design cross-border holding investments by leveraging a deep understanding of the worldwide treaty network, including how bilateral and multilateral treaties shape the overall tax position of global organizations. Exposure to daily client interactions, leadership of mission-critical workstreams, and the chance to shape global tax outcomes while enhancing commercial acumen and advisory impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (4-year degree)
  • Typically, no less than 4–6 years relevant experience
  • A US CPA license or US state bar membership
  • Tax due diligence, deal-structuring, and post-acquisition planning experience and/or inbound and outbound transaction consulting with international tax research, planning and compliance experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic advice on cross-border tax planning and operational risk.
