About The Position

The Manager, Institutional/Provider Rebates is responsible for managing the payment requirements of Pfizer’s various contractual agreements with Hospitals, GPOs, IDNs, and Clinics for complex accounts. This role ensures accurate and timely payments to Pfizer US Institutional customers in accordance with agreement terms and conditions, while also providing necessary information and support for statutory, compliance, and production requirements. The Manager will conduct financial analysis related to payments, explaining variances and changes in trends. This position collaborates on strategic initiatives, internal and external deliverables, and works with leadership and cross-functional partners to support US Products across HBU, I&I, and Oncology Business Units.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience OR a Master’s degree with 2+ years of experience OR PhD OR an Associate degree with 8+ years of experience OR a High School diploma (or equivalent) with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in pharmaceutical industry or relative experience preferred.
• Institutional contracting/rebating experience a plus, but not required.
• Possess the ability to make judgments regarding policy, objectives, and Institutional and Provider marketplace.
• Be comfortable discussing terms, conditions, and rebates with MASA, Account Management and customers as required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to understand and respond to multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop the ability to effectively influence key team members.
• Possess strong organization, verbal and written communications and time management skills.
• Possess reliable follow-through, and ability to influence the outcome of key issues and challenges.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required; strong attention to detail and project management skills preferred.
• Excellent skills in Excel, including proficiency with pivot tables, V-lookups, charts, and formulas; proficient working with large data files.
• Intermediate skills with MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook.
• Experience working with a rebate payment system or similar financial transaction system preferred; experience with Model N FLEX platform preferred.
• Proficient using Business Objects, Cognos, or other reporting software; basic understanding of how report queries function and ability to create simple queries independently.
• Strong level fluency and knowledge of AI and systems such as CoPilot, Claude, etc.
• Permanent work authorization in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for contracted customers (GPOs, IDNs, and Wholesalers) and manage the fee/rebate payment process.
• Review contract language and provide subject matter expertise on rebate setup in connection with pricing components in Flex system.
• Accurately process payments within the timelines stated in our agreements.
• Perform robust validations to ensure accuracy and lead continuous improvement.
• Ensure that customers adhere to contract language, terms, & conditions to reduce risk and protect Pfizer’s assets.
• Work to ensure adherence to SOX controls and internal SOPs; maintain adequate supporting documentation for rebate payments, rebate reconciliations and quarterly accrual reserves.
• Perform analysis of account performance for Management and Account Teams, while maintaining a strong focus on customer support.
• Provide quarterly rebate information and analysis to Managed Market Finance for accruals process.
• Provide input into contract negotiation of rebate and fee strategies as it relates to the payment terms, system capabilities, and customers’ data management.
• Collaborate with Contracting Management and Development teams; review draft language; act as SME for contract set up.
• Collaborate closely with GBS to ensure accurate setup of rebate eligible members.
• Develop and manage key customer relationships and align on common business objectives.
• Fulfill ad-hoc requests for data and analysis and build collaborative relationships with various internal stakeholders.
• Identify and communicate issues, which may impact the contracting & rebate process or the overall contracting environment and evaluate potential impact to current strategy and policy.

• Possess knowledge of rebate payment process and applications (FLEX, Business Objects, Cognos); identify and troubleshoot calculation issues; partner with Pfizer Digital diagnose issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead periodic UAT for system enhancements.
• Leverage knowledge of customers, markets, and Pfizer strategies to understand impact of evolving contract strategies and provide suggestions on the optimal implementation of them.
• Identify and communicate issues, which may impact the contracting & rebate process or the overall contracting environment and evaluate potential impact to current strategy and policy.
• Lead the development of training material; train other colleagues to gain overall knowledge of the market, rebate administration process, and key stakeholder areas of focus (e.g., accruals.).
• Leadership on project work and analysis required on an ad hoc basis. Assigned project work would generally consist of leading medium to high-risk projects with cross functional impact.
