About The Position

The Manager, Inspection leads all Quality Control functions at assigned maintenance station(s), ensuring the highest standards of airworthiness, regulatory compliance, safety, and operational excellence. This role provides independent oversight of maintenance activities, inspection programs, and quality assurance processes while serving as the primary station authority for airworthiness and quality control matters. This position supervises Designated and Delegated Inspectors.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Must hold a valid FAA Mechanic’s Certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant Ratings.
• Minimum 5 years of air carrier maintenance experience.
• Demonstrated maturity, sound judgment, and analytical ability to exercise independent oversight and decision-making regarding airworthiness, regulatory compliance, and all aspects of aircraft maintenance.
• Demonstrated knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 43, 65, 91, 119, and 121, Required Inspection Item programs, Airworthiness release requirements, Maintenance records systems, FAA regulatory compliance systems, Quality surveillance and audit processes.
• Computer proficiency using Microsoft Office suite including word, excel and data input functions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks with a high degree of attention to detail.
• Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, initiative, and commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
• Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
• Must have or be able to obtain a valid U.S. passport.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license is required and if position requires use of company vehicle(s), must be insurable under company insurance coverage.
• May require annual eye exam.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• One year of aircraft inspection experience preferred.
• Previous Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Lead Inspector, Maintenance Supervisor, or equivalent leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works under the supervision of the Senior Manager, Inspection and the Chief Inspector.
• Provides leadership, direction, and oversight of all Quality Control activities at the assigned maintenance station(s).
• Serves as the station focal point for airworthiness determinations and inspection-related compliance matters and ensures aircraft maintenance and inspection activities meet applicable airworthiness standards.
• Ensures maintenance activities are accomplished in accordance with FAA regulations, Company manuals, Operations Specifications, approved maintenance programs, and established quality standards.
• Oversees station compliance with applicable provisions of 14 CFR Parts 43, 65, 91, 119, and 121, Company manuals, maintenance programs, and Operations Specifications.
• Provides independent Quality Control oversight of maintenance activities and has the authority to reject, stop, or require corrective action for work that does not conform to regulatory or company requirements.
• Identifies compliance risks and initiates corrective actions when deficiencies are identified.
• Administers and oversees the Required Inspection Item (RII) program at assigned station(s).
• Ensures authorized personnel maintain qualifications and perform RII inspections in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Ensures Designated and Delegated Inspectors maintain required qualifications, authorizations, training, and competency standards.
• Evaluates inspector performance and recommends authorization issuance, suspension, or removal as appropriate.
• Leads inspection staffing, workforce planning, and talent development efforts to ensure operational readiness and regulatory compliance.
• Develops and executes station quality surveillance activities including audits, spot inspections, work package reviews, facility inspections, and maintenance process evaluations.
• Monitors quality trends and implements corrective action plans to improve compliance and reliability.
• Supports the Continuous Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS) through collection, analysis, and reporting of quality and maintenance performance data.
• Participates in investigations and corrective action activities resulting from audits, surveillance findings, reliability trends, and operational events.
• Ensures maintenance records, aircraft logbook entries, work packages, inspection records, and return-to-service documentation are accurate, complete, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
• Provides quality oversight of contract maintenance providers and vendors operating at assigned station(s).
• Monitors contractor compliance with Company requirements and regulatory standards.
• Acts as the primary station Quality Control representative during FAA inspections, audits, investigations, and surveillance activities.
• Coordinates responses to regulatory findings and corrective action requirements.
• Performs additional assignments, functions and projects as assigned to achieve department and company objectives.
• Provides leadership, coaching, mentorship, and performance management for assigned Inspectors, fostering professional development, accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
