This is a 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two-week pay period) 8-hour day shift position with no weekends. It is a remote position, but candidates must reside within commuting distance of Allina Commons, Minneapolis MN.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description
  • 5+ years experience in information security or related field in developing and implementing tactical security solutions
  • Understanding advanced security controls and principles regarding data storage, transmission and encryption is key to this role.
  • The ability to communicate technical information to non-technical employees is required.
  • Ability to present updates and changes to senior IT leaders.
  • Perform security evaluations and assessments to identify risk levels and solutions.
  • Serve as expert security resource for customers.
  • CISSP or related security certification (CEH, CCSP, Security+, CISM) required

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information services or related field
  • Master's degree in computer science, information services or related field
  • 2+ years experience in leading IT employees

Responsibilities

  • Manage the IT Security team ensuring system-wide data and networks are secure.
  • Oversee the systems used to secure data and networks.
  • Provide leadership regarding what risks justify implementation of new devices.
  • Oversee testing of security system enhancements, product interfaces and maintenance.
  • Research, advocate and implement new technologies, architectures and security projects that will support system-wide security requirements.
  • Lead the architectural design and implementation of system using security principles.
  • Using current industry trends and experience identify security solutions then develop and lead implementation.
  • Identify organizational risk and mitigating controls that can be achieved through policy or procedural change.
  • Prepare presentations of both technical and non-technical scope.
  • Oversee communication with customers and system developers.
  • Interface with customer and co-workers across IT department to ensure security procedures and policies are followed, using written and verbal forms of communication.
  • Engage in prompt and clear communications with users and customers regarding basic security incidents, events and inquiries.
  • May regularly communicate with IT leaders regarding work status and departmental issues.
  • May oversee other people managers or individual contributors.
  • Provide performance reviews and regular feedback.
  • Hire and retain employees.
  • Manage to department budget.
  • Other duties as assigned.
