About The Position

As a Manager in Training, you’ll oversee daily operations of a Goodwill retail store, ensuring excellent customer service, efficient donation processing, and a positive team environment. You’ll lead by example, manage staff performance, and help drive sales and mission impact through effective leadership and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of management/supervisory experience in a business (retail) setting preferred.
  • Associate’s degree in business or related field preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and motivate a team.
  • Knowledge of sales, budgeting, and inventory control.
  • Commitment to Goodwill’s mission of changing lives through the power of work.
  • Must be willing and able to work days, evenings, and weekends
  • Must have a reliable means of transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, and supervise team members and Assistant Team Leaders.
  • Ensure world-class customer and donor service.
  • Manage daily store operations, including scheduling, payroll, and cash handling.
  • Monitor budgets, sales goals, and expense controls.
  • Maintain store image, safety, and loss prevention standards.
  • Oversee donation flow, inventory, and merchandising.
  • Ensure compliance with Goodwill policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Promote Goodwill’s Core Values and Guiding Principles through teamwork and communication.
