About The Position

Northland Properties, a 100% Canadian-owned company with over 50 years of experience in hotels, restaurants, resorts, sports, construction, and asset management, is seeking an energetic, service-oriented leader for its Leadership Development Program at Sandman Hotel Group. This program offers a unique opportunity to gain comprehensive experience in all aspects of hotel operations and team leadership, with a focus on ensuring superior guest and team satisfaction. The program emphasizes connecting with multiple locations and leaders, encouraging participants to bring their full selves, including their experience and passion, while receiving one-to-one mentorship to develop their leadership path. Successful candidates will learn to go above and beyond guest expectations, mentor and develop team members, and deliver exceptional financial results by effectively managing expenses and labor.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years Hotel supervisory experience, or 3-4 years Sales or Rooms Division Management experience.
  • Diploma or Degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management would be an asset.
  • Applicants must be able to communicate information and ideas clearly.
  • They must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to handle everyday situations quickly and effectively.
  • Must have excellent attitude with a positive influence on others.
  • Applicants must be empathetic to the thoughts, comments and needs of guests, clients and staff.
  • Able to relocate within Canada if required.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Make the necessary adjustments to meet targets, forecast financial position of the property, create sales strategies, review statements and reports and offer assistance whenever needed.
  • Be able to accurately observe budgets and sales goals; ensure productivity goals are met and that all departments work cohesively.
  • Control turnover, conduct regular staff meetings, communicate with all departments, ensuring that all goals are known to the entire team and review performances to ensure the employees are of the highest quality.
  • Ensure all company policies are being implemented.
  • Work to achieve agreed goals and objectives.
