This role involves assisting in the oversight of yard operations and personnel to ensure a balance of customer satisfaction and profitability. Responsibilities

  • Assist in overseeing yard operations and yard personnel to achieve a successful balance of customer satisfaction and yard profitability.
  • Supervise employees appropriately and effectively.
  • Learn all applicable computer applications and understand general policies and procedures.
  • Learn all operations-specific policies and procedures, including Inventory Control Systems, Receiving, Customer Delivery, and Manufacturing (Door Shop).
  • Develop a firm understanding of safety management, branch logistics, inventory management, employee management, and expense management through observation, hands-on training, and mentoring.
  • Work directly within branch-level teams to develop fundamentals of operational and support logistics.
  • Achieve forklift license and receive instruction on all varieties of lifts used by operations teams (Propane, Diesel, Electric, and Clamp).
  • Learn how to utilize reporting and data to manage and make business decisions.
  • Attend company-specific training as scheduled during the training period.
  • Participate in year-end inventory audits.
  • Understand the roles and meet members of each corporate department, including Human Resources, Purchasing, Special Orders, and Loss Control.
