About The Position

Responsible for the management and operations of the Radiology department. Identify, develop, implement and maintain radiology/imaging services in the clinic system including pricing, staffing/training and new equipment purchases. Formulate patient care policies, protocols and procedures, as well as ensure regulatory compliance. Establish and manage department budget. Full-time role out of our Edina location but will be available to travel to other TCO clinics. Twin Cities Orthopedics is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices, owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Minimum of 6 years of imaging experience.
  • Work in the clinic or office during business hours.
  • Travel independently throughout the clinic/office (which may include movement from floor to floor); frequent bending, lifting, stooping or sitting for long periods of time may be required.
  • Work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately and meet deadlines.
  • Maintain prompt and reliable attendance.
  • Converse in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Understand and execute a variety of instructions.
  • Effectively operate clinic and office (e.g., PC) equipment; and communicate on and operate the phone system.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Travel throughout the Twin Cities metro area on a regular basis.
  • Adhere to HIPAA requirements.
  • Comply with all TCO policies, procedures and complete job required training.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee, monitor and manage the daily operations of the Radiology department including maintenance of departmental equipment and supplies. This includes a potential need for evening and weekend hours in support of Orthopedic Urgent Care sites.
  • Effectively recruit, hire, coach, train, evaluate and develop direct reports and ensure the same for indirect reports, leveraging TCO’s core values.
  • Introduce new technology to staff and partner with vendors to ensure adequate training of all technologists.
  • Perform routine x-ray and CT exams on a regular basis to maintain technical skill competence and backup for staff. Typically, 20% of time based on business need.
  • Partner with Radiation Safety Lead, Imaging Service Team, and Imaging Supervisors to ensure Minnesota Department of Health Radiation Control rules are followed and required credentials for staff are validated and maintained.
  • Responsible for attaining and maintaining CT accreditation at all sites.
  • Partner with Leadership in driving successful financial performance of the imaging departments (e.g., develop budgets; track performance and variance to budget; oversee purchasing and expense management; collaborate with Business Office to ensure successful billing and collection efforts; maintain an adequate system of internal controls over financial transactions including dual control of cash handling, etc.).
  • Review imaging data to confirm specific protocol requirements have been met as well as ensuring technical adequacy and data integrity.
  • Conduct frequent, timely, and appropriate communications with staff through meetings and one-on-one sessions; actively participate in meetings and other communications processes; share information timely, accurately and completely with others as needed.
  • Evaluate and develop action plans based upon patient, employee and physician satisfaction data and feedback.
  • Appropriately communicate and escalate employee relations issues with senior leader and Human Resources, including but not limited to performance concerns, conduct, attendance and policy violations.
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and mentoring to imaging supervisors.
  • Collaborate with Patient Advocate on resolutions to any escalated patient complaints.
  • Appropriately collaborate with physicians and other managers.
  • Occasionally participate in community functions relating to TCO outreach events throughout the year.
  • Maintain a safe environment for staff and patients.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned.
