About The Position

Oversees the management and facilitates production and quality within a STERIS Offsite Reprocessing Center (ORC), Outsource facility, or Customer account. Ensures Customer expectations are met by pro-actively managing activities and complying with contractual obligations. Provides on-site support, training, and communication to employees and contracted facilities sterile processing department management and personnel. Ensures SPD compliance with STERIS QMS policies and procedures as well as the Department of Health, TJC, DNV, OSHA, CDC, AAMI and AORN standards.

Requirements

  • 8 years of relevant experience with 4 years in a Sterile Processing Leadership role preferably supporting a minimum of 10 Operating Rooms.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (4+ Years).
  • Experience in process management and quality control (3+ Year).
  • Active certification in sterile processing/central sterile via CBSPD or IAHCSMM required. If not certified at point of hire, it must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
  • Must take 12 Continuing Education Credit Hours each year.
  • Must take an additional 6 Leadership Continuing Education Credit Hours each year.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage an engaged team to provide excellent day-to-day service that meets the Customer’s needs and contractual obligations.
  • Focus on continuous improvement and engage and coach employees to achieve improvements.
  • Interview, hire, assist with training, and coach employees to meet company objectives and Customer requirements.
  • Build and maintain a culture of Employee Engagement and Retention through regular communication and on-going training.
  • Determine the appropriate staff mix and properly align staff with fluctuating demand.
  • Ensure delivery of Customer Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and conduct regularly scheduled Customer Pulse Check meetings to review quality metrics and ensure expectations are being met.
  • Maintain professional relationships with all Customer stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient support to the patient caregivers as it relates to the scope of the contract and coach front-line leadership to do the same.
  • Develop higher level relationships within the Customer organization including but not limited to OR Managers, Directors & V.P.’s.
  • Resolve client issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Demonstrate a complete understanding of the contract(s) and support with educating and training Customer leadership in all aspects of contracted services.
  • Demonstrate complete understanding of the STERIS standard processes and implement and hold the team accountable through leadership routines.
  • Develop and execute project plans weekly to ensure target dates are met and barriers identified.
  • Ensure proper operational processes are followed by all members of the STERIS team in conjunction with STERIS QMS policies and procedures as well as the Department of Health, TJC, DNV, OSHA, CDC, AAMI, AORN standards and facilities policies and procedures.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all administrative documents and functions (time records, count sheets, inventories, billing, etc.) required by the Customer and STERIS.
  • Manage an operating budget for STERIS and understand that all decisions can have a financial impact and manage within the budget.
  • Use Non-conformance documentation to identify areas of deficiencies and create Corrective Action Plans to manage improvement.
