About The Position

This role leads process improvement tools and methods such as 5S, root cause analysis, six sigma, and time and motion studies to eliminate quality losses and deviations within a Distribution Center, adhering to the Network Process Structure and Walmart Performance System (WPS) programs. The position delivers expected functional area results through Key Performance Indicator (KPI) analysis, loss elimination, and by creating standard work to reduce process variation. It involves assisting with the review and response of Quality-focused process improvement projects owned by area managers, compiling and submitting deviations to existing One Best Way playbooks, and providing input to Divisional Focused Improvement Teams on project ideation and replication opportunities. The role also assists with the tactical deployment of the Quality Excellence WPS program methodology, manages project execution of top Quality losses, and aids in building the capability of other area managers and associates. Additionally, it supports the creation of area Quality loss profile analysis and performance metrics, develops gap analysis for WPS integration, and supports Department Managers with WPS programs, projects, associate engagement, and KPI improvements. The Manager II, Quality Engineer – Supply Chain leads Quality-related savings projects within their area of responsibility by identifying and removing losses from processes. This position may require working at various unanticipated Walmart locations throughout the U.S.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in engineering or related field and 3 years of experience in Quality or Process Improvement or related experience; OR Master’s degree or the equivalent in engineering or related field and 1 year of experience in Quality or Process Improvement or related experience.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification (includes MSA, Hypothesis Testing, DOE)
  • Root Cause Analysis, Problem Solving & FMEA
  • Minitab for Data Analysis and Decision Making
  • Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • KPI Development & Analysis
  • Continuous Improvement Tools (5S, VSM, Kaizen Events)
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC), Control Charts, Process Capability
  • Time and Motion Studies – Optimization of task cycles, labor, and equipment efficiency
  • Digital Process Monitoring & Automated Defect Detection
  • Risk assessment and management
  • Engineering Design Tools: 3D Modeling, 2D CAD, or Drawing Systems
  • Process Cell Design & Layout Optimization – Lean-driven physical setup.

Responsibilities
