About The Position

This role is responsible for coordinating and overseeing job-related activities and assignments within the Supply Chain. The Manager II, Quality Engineer will lead process improvement initiatives using tools like 5S, root cause analysis, six sigma, and time and motion studies to eliminate quality losses and deviations in a Distribution Center. They will deliver results through KPI analysis, loss elimination, and by creating standard work to reduce process variation. The position also involves assisting with the review and response of quality-focused process improvement projects, ensuring compliance with company policies, and supporting the company's mission and values. The role requires compiling deviations, providing input to improvement teams, assisting with the deployment of the Quality Excellence WPS program, managing project execution for top quality losses, and building the capability of other managers and associates. Additionally, the role supports the creation of quality loss profile analysis and performance metrics, performs gap analysis for WPS integration, and supports Department Managers with WPS programs, projects, associate engagement, and KPI improvements. The Manager II, Quality Engineer will lead quality-related savings projects by identifying and removing losses from processes. The position may require working at various unanticipated Walmart locations throughout the U.S.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or the equivalent in Engineering or related field plus 1 year of experience in quality improvement; OR Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Engineering or related field plus 3 years of experience in quality improvement or related field.
  • Performing root cause analysis using Fishbone diagrams, Pareto analysis, and RCCM
  • Creating Visualizations for KPIs using Power BI
  • Conducting Time and Motion Studies/MODAPTS
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards (Fire Safety standards)
  • Performing return on investment and Business case analysis for capital expenditure
  • Utilizing Minitab/JMP to perform Statistical Process Control, Design of Experiment
  • Utilizing DMAIC Methodology process to improve processes
  • Applying Lean manufacturing tools (Kaizen, 5S, VSM) to reduce waste and improve process efficiency
  • Creating Work Instructions/Standard Operating Procedure/Associate Work Instructions
  • Creating Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to map processes, identify bottlenecks
  • Leading Kaizen/Process improvement events (RIEs)

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders; supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs; identifying and communicating goals and objectives; building accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results; identifying and addressing improvement opportunities; and demonstrating adaptability and promoting continuous learning.
  • Leads Process Improvement tools and methods (for example, 5S, root cause analysis, six sigma, time and motion studies) to eliminate Quality losses and deviations in an area within a Distribution Center according to Network Process Structure using Walmart Performance System (WPS) programs.
  • Delivers expected functional areas results through Key Performance Indicator (KPI) analysis, loss elimination, and by creating standard work to reduce process variation.
  • Assists with the review and response of Quality focused process improvement projects owned by area managers.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy; and providing direction and guidance on applying these in executing business processes and practices.
  • Compiles and submits deviations to existing One Best Way playbooks and provides input to Divisional Focused Improvement Teams on project ideation and replication opportunities.
  • Assists with the tactical deployment of the Quality Excellence WPS program methodology.
  • Manages project execution of top-Quality losses in the functional area and assists in building the capability of other area managers and associates.
  • Assists with the creation of area Quality loss profile analysis and performance metrics.
  • Develop gap analysis to support WPS integration.
  • Supports Department Managers with WPS programs, projects, associate engagement, and KPI improvements within process area.
  • Leads Quality-related savings projects within area of responsibility by taking loss out of the process.
