About The Position

This position leads process improvement tools and methods such as 5S, root cause analysis, Six Sigma, and time and motion studies to eliminate losses within a Distribution Center, following the Network Process Structure and Walmart Performance System (WPS) programs. The role involves delivering expected functional area results through Key Performance Indicator (KPI) analysis, loss elimination, and creating standard work to reduce process variation. The Manager II will also assist with the review and response of process improvement projects owned by area managers, apply new network One Best Way playbooks, and provide input to Divisional Focused Improvement Teams on project ideation and replication opportunities. Additionally, they will lead savings projects within their area of responsibility by removing loss from the process, promote and support company policies, initiatives, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity, and assist with the tactical deployment of the WPS program methodology. The role includes managing project execution of top losses in the functional area, assisting in building the capability of other area managers and associates, supporting area loss profile analysis and performance metrics, and developing gap analysis to support WPS integration. The Manager II will also support Department Managers with WPS programs, projects, associate engagement, and KPI improvements within their process area. This role coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, identifying and communicating goals and objectives, building accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results, identifying and addressing improvement opportunities, and demonstrating adaptability and promoting continuous learning. Furthermore, the position provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring and training, mentoring, assigning duties, providing recognition, and promoting a belonging mindset in the workplace. They ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and support the company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans, utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy, and providing direction and guidance on applying these in executing business processes and practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and 3 years’ experience in Quality or Process Improvement OR 5 years’ experience in Quality or Process Improvement.
  • Microsoft Office Suite, analytical skills
  • Process or Value Stream Simulation knowledge
  • Demonstrated project ownership resulting in sustainable, long term savings
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (for example, Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).
