About The Position

The Tactical Solutions Strategic Business Unit delivers mission system solutions, from specialized antennas to radio-frequency electronics, and electro-optical technologies, to the warfighter. Our systems enhance the performance of various military platforms, from aircraft and land vehicles to ships and satellites, and give warfighters the advantage they need to take action, identify targets and defend against evolving threats. This position supports the Tactical Solutions business unit within BAE Systems, Inc., Space & Mission Systems sector as a capture manager for a variety of pursuits. This includes identifying, pursuing, developing, and winning business opportunities with various government organizations. The role involves coordinating and establishing contacts with key US Government and industry customers and stakeholders, and building trusting relationships through demonstrated technical expertise and knowledge of customer needs. The capture manager will work with other Mission Systems Product Line team members, customers, and end users to find solutions to today's needs and help develop concepts for next generation platforms. They will develop and communicate messages, marketing, competition assessments, and customer insights to pursuit teams and leadership based on core values of integrity, honesty, transparency, and collaboration. The role also involves assessing market potential for existing markets and developing investment plans to penetrate new or lateral markets, and establishing necessary industrial partnerships. Collaboration with the Chief Technologist on innovative research & development projects and coordinating technology development with other business areas is also part of the role. The capture manager will work with prime and government customers to translate technical performance for EO/IR and/or RF mission systems into recommended Concepts of Employment to provide the maximum tactical advantage to warfighters. Additionally, they will assist in the development and communication of proposal strategy, including pursuit analysis, bidding strategies, technical presentations, win themes, key points, and pricing. Coordination of all proposal activities, preparation of various inputs, and oversight of final proposal preparation and delivery are required. The role also includes overseeing study efforts having the potential to evolve into new business capture opportunities. A regular and predictable work schedule is expected, along with establishing and maintaining effective working relationships within the department, Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company, interacting appropriately to maintain a positive and productive work environment. Other duties as necessary will be performed.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in related field plus 10 years or more related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience.
  • Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • A current, active Secret security clearance is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret.
  • Influencing, communication and team skills will be critical to successful execution of the duties of the position.
  • Experienced presentation skills with documented presentation experience to senior decision making and technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated proposal leadership experience, demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills in relevant business environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated expertise/experience in RF electronics technology (or adjacent field), capabilities, and applications in warfighter domains.
  • A current, active Top Secret security clearance.
  • Proposal management and business capture experience is preferred.
  • Programmatic background within classified program environments for government or industry.
  • Experience in leading design teams and new business capture activities.
  • Solid technical writing skills.
