About The Position

VoltaGrid is seeking an experienced Health & Safety professional to support on-site safety execution at a Data center location in Covington, Georgia. This role is responsible for day-to-day safety performance and ensuring alignment with VoltaGrid’s safety expectations during initial construction and then ongoing operations. This position serves as the primary on-site safety point of contact, working closely with operations, contractors, and customer representatives to maintain a safe, compliant, and well-coordinated work environment. The role is hands-on, focused on field presence, engagement, and consistent execution.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of experience in construction safety, industrial safety, or related field
  • Experience supporting large-scale construction or industrial projects
  • Strong knowledge of field safety practices and hazard recognition
  • Experience participating in incident investigations and root cause analysis
  • Ability to work effectively with field teams, contractors, and customers
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Professional certifications such as CSP preferred (BSCP certifications a plus)
  • Experience supporting data center or critical infrastructure projects

Responsibilities

  • Support and oversee daily safety activities at the assigned data center site
  • Conduct routine field observations, audits, and site walkthroughs
  • Ensure compliance with VoltaGrid standards and site-specific safety requirements
  • Provide direct support and guidance to site personnel and supervisors
  • Identify hazards and work with the team to implement practical mitigation measures
  • Monitor safety performance and address gaps in real time
  • Serve as the primary safety contact for the assigned site
  • Work directly with customer representatives, contractors, and project teams on safety matters
  • Participate in daily and weekly safety meetings, planning sessions, and site coordination calls
  • Communicate safety expectations clearly and consistently across all site personnel
  • Support safe execution of both construction and operational activities at the site
  • Work closely with construction managers, operations leaders, and contractors
  • Ensure safety requirements are understood and applied in daily work activities
  • Assist with planning activities to ensure safety is integrated into work execution
  • Respond to and support incident investigations at the site
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis processes, including Think Reliability methods
  • Ensure corrective actions are identified, implemented, and tracked to closure
  • Share lessons learned with site teams to prevent recurrence
  • Work directly with contractors and subcontractors to reinforce safety expectations
  • Support review and understanding of site safety plans and work practices
  • Monitor contractor safety performance and provide feedback as needed
  • Ensure consistent reporting of incidents and safety metrics
  • Support compliance with applicable health and safety regulations and site requirements
  • Assist with audits, inspections, and customer safety reviews
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation and reporting for the site
