About The Position

The Health Information Management (HIM) Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing the daily operations of the Health Information Management Department. The manager ensures the integrity, availability, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance of the organization's health information systems and medical records. This position provides leadership and operational oversight for document management, release of information, chart completion, record retention, privacy compliance, data integrity, and electronic health record (EHR) functions. The HIM Manager collaborates with physicians, nursing leadership, compliance, revenue cycle, legal counsel, information technology, and other healthcare leaders to support organizational goals, regulatory compliance, quality improvement initiatives, and exceptional patient care.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in Health Information Management, Healthcare administration or Business Administration- required
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible for Health Information Management experience- required
  • Minimum of 3 years of management or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, Business administration- preferred
  • RHIA, RHIT, CHPS- preferred
  • Experience with acute care hospital operations- preferred
