Under indirect supervision, the HIM manager manages the daily HIM operations to include personnel management, training and education, quality, productivity, report management, budget, problem- resolution, coordination of regulatory readiness and forms management, and assists HIM and hospital staff with HIM related follow-up, issues and questions. Actively moves forward from a paper to an electronic medical record (EMR) environment while collaborating with IT, physicians and others. Examines and re-engineers operations and procedures and develops, implements and monitors new strategies and procedures for HIM and associate/physician/patient satisfaction. Participates in short-term and long-term strategic planning.
