Cherry Bekaert is seeking a growth-oriented Manager to join our Government Contractor Advisory practice and help clients strengthen compliance, audit readiness, pricing, contract administration and business system requirements across federal programs. This fully remote U.S. based role is ideal for a client-focused professional who brings strong project management, leadership skills and an interest in contributing to business development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, with knowledge of accounting principles; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) desired
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience performing compliance, contract or grant management, contract administration, auditing, or advising organizations subject to FAR, CAS, Uniform Guidance, DFARS or other federal regulations
- Experience interfacing with DCAA, DCMA, and other agency auditors on behalf of clients (pre-award SF 1408 accounting system reviews, business system audits, floor checks, and paid voucher reviews)
- Working knowledge of the six DFARS Contractor Business Systems, including the ability to evaluate adequacy, identify deficiencies and support remediation
- Experience preparing or reviewing incurred cost submissions, provisional or forward pricing billing rates and indirect rate structures
- Familiarity with FAR Part 31 cost principles, cost allowability and allocability, and CAS Disclosure Statements
- Ability to travel for client work as needed, not expected to exceed 15%
Nice To Haves
- Experience with pricing, cost or price analysis, requests for equitable adjustments, claims, terminations, Wide Area Workflow (WAWF) or IPP is a plus
Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to government contractor clients, helping them navigate all phases of the contract and grant management lifecycle and address complex compliance and operational challenges
- Lead compliance and gap assessments involving FAR, DFARS, CAS and related federal requirements
- Support client interactions with DCAA, DCMA and other agency auditors
- Review solicitation clauses, contract terms and award requirements to help clients understand obligations and risks
- Provide proposal, pricing, estimating and cost or price analysis support
- Support contract modifications, bid protests, requests for equitable adjustments, claims and contract closeouts
- Help clients develop processes, policies, procedures, internal controls and training that support strong contract and grant management
- Provide leadership to team members through coaching, mentoring, professional development, and performance feedback
- Build and maintain relationships with executive stakeholders while contributing to business development and practice growth initiatives
