Requirements

  • Associate degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred
  • minimum 7 years of security or related background.
  • Industrial security, law enforcement, or military experience preferred
  • 3 years of leadership experience
  • direct project management.
  • Valid Illinois driver’s license, Firearm Owner’s Identification Card (FOID), State of Illinois 40-Hour Security Training, Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC), and the ability to obtain the Firearm Control Card (FCC) successfully.
  • Technical aptitude and knowledge of security systems and equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, e.g., 4-Step Problem Solving process.
  • Proven team building and change management skills to coach, mentor, and empower team members throughout the organization.
  • Demonstrates good PC skills, including MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that overall resources are utilized appropriately to meet organizational needs.
  • Anticipate organizational constraints and take appropriate action to address them.
  • Assist in the development of overall business plans for the organization.
  • Coaching, counseling direct reports, and participating in establishing appropriate development plans.
  • Anticipating, investigating, and resolving departmental problems and conflicts.
  • Promoting safety awareness, housekeeping, investigating, and reporting on safety incidents.
  • Reviewing and approving team member reviews.
  • Writing and conducting team member reviews.
  • Initiating decisions regarding hires, promotions, corrective actions, and terminations.
  • Identifying individual training and skill development criteria to meet departmental/divisional needs.
  • Independently analyze available data to decide on present and future organizational requirements.
  • Willing to step into any role within this department when needed.
