About The Position
Velan is a global leader in the design and manufacture of industrial valves. Founded in Montreal, the company is recognized for the quality of its products, its technical expertise, and its human and collaborative corporate culture. We are seeking a Manager, Global Quotations who will report to the Director, Sales Projects. This role has overall responsibilities to ensure the effective, efficient, and accurate proposal generation process while meeting demanding deadlines. He/she coaches and develops team members, deploys and maintains quotations processes, tools and best practices. This role requires the ability to work well under pressure and to meet challenging deadlines.
Requirements
- College degree with a minimum of 10-years related experience
- Proficient in MS office, in particular Excel (data analysis, pivot table)
- Experience with an ERP
- Ability to organize work efficiently to meet deadlines
- Strong ability to adapt

- Relevant experience in the valve industry an asset
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the quotations team: Manage the quotations organization, coach team members, and provide resource forecasting and workload planning.
- Drive winning proposals: Lead strategy sessions to develop win themes, participate in proposal reviews, and apply a disciplined, consistent process to ensure the highest quality for each proposal.
- Coordinate cross-functional activities: Align sales, legal, technical support, engineering, and proposal staff on technical and commercial design, while building strong internal and external relationships and working closely with the qualifications team and SMEs.
- Understand client needs and support pricing: Apply knowledge of customer requirements and internal capabilities to strengthen proposals, and provide guidance on price and cost analysis.
- Own CPQ and product configuration governance: Ensure accurate data and product configuration in the CPQ database, and make sure pricing, costing, and applications engineering processes run well and policies are documented and understood.
- Establish controls and performance metrics: Define reporting, KPIs, and controls for quotation quality and cost efficiency, and manage the pull process to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Champion continuous improvement: Partner with the process improvement specialist to enhance quotation tools, systems, and processes.
