About The Position

This role involves working with the Director, Global Procurement to conduct sourcing activities for PB&CB - Caribbean Banking. The position influences strategic decision-making and drives cost efficiencies. Key responsibilities include gathering and analyzing data and business requirements, managing the RFx process, and preparing findings for Caribbean Executive & Senior Management. The role also focuses on developing and negotiating contract strategies to provide cost-effective, sustainable solutions and optimize the total value generated from RBC's supplier database.

Requirements

  • Post Secondary Education in Business Administration, Business Management, Finance, Accounting, Law or related Sourcing Field
  • Experience in Sourcing of non-complex and complex Procurement deals
  • Understanding of procurement law and/or regulations
  • Business and Financial Acumen

Responsibilities

  • Develop sourcing strategies and align procurement activity to the organization’s procurement and business objectives using industry analysis, business knowledge, competitive analysis, and sourcing expertise.
  • Use spend information and category metrics to influence business groups to address key opportunities.
  • Balance cost and complexity to identify and analyze strategic issues, business unit opportunities, service levels, and consolidate critical and non-critical requirements across different suppliers.
  • Evaluate supplier proposals by interpreting and analyzing them against business requirements to recommend the best fit supplier.
  • Create a robust and effective negotiation strategy in alignment with RBC's business needs, aiming for cost-effective pricing and risk-based terms and conditions.
  • Prepare and draft contract terms, collaborating with the Law Unit and Centres of Governance to ensure compliance and meet business requirements.
  • Lead the negotiation process from preparation through to execution for assigned contracts.
  • Build effective and strong relationships with key internal partners and stakeholders by understanding their needs and dynamics.
  • Influence and lead key internal sponsors and stakeholders through the sourcing process to gain buy-in, overcome challenges, and deliver on high-priority, high-risk, complex initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain trusted relationships with key suppliers, negotiating pricing/quality of service while minimizing risk.
  • Manage the end-to-end RFx process in compliance with all governance requirements.
  • Manage procurement policies, processes, and procedures to ensure the efficient acquisition of quality goods at a reasonable cost and on time.
