About The Position

BioMarin is a global biotechnology company focused on developing transformative medicines for patients with significant unmet medical needs. The Technical Operations group is responsible for drug manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain coordination. The Global Product Planner role is crucial for ensuring product availability throughout the product lifecycle, from launch to sunset, by integrating demand signals, managing inventory, and coordinating with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • B.S. or B.A. in supply chain management, science, and/or engineering (biotechnology, engineering or related sciences).
  • 4+ years of supply chain management and planning experience for a reputed, global or multi-plant Biotech, Pharmaceutical or Consumer Product company utilizing world-class supply chain planning and execution processes.
  • Experience with global product supply planning and knowledge of Biotech, Pharmaceutical Sales & Operations Planning processes.
  • Good understanding and exposure to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and other regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in developing and implementing world-class, global supply chain planning processes and managing them through deployment of global advanced planning and scheduling systems.
  • Expertise in SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and advanced planning tools.
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment and build strong relationships by being transparent, reliable, and delivering on commitments.
  • Ability in negotiating and influencing without authority in complex, high impact situations.
  • Strong strategic and analytical thinking, problem-solving, and rapid decision-making skills.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Developed ability to create and foster a team-based environment to establish and maintain cooperative relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • Diploma or certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., APICS or CSCP certification) strongly preferred.
  • Exposure and experience in Biotech / Pharmaceutical manufacturing process, principles and practices; preferably at production site and headquarters level.
  • Experience in working internationally in a fast-paced, reputable global Biotech / Pharmaceutical or Consumer company organized in a matrix structure.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full supply plan for assigned product(s), including Drug Substance (DS), Drug Product (DP), and Finished Goods (FG).
  • Collaborate with Demand Planners to consolidate global demand and net requirements, ensuring alignment of S&OP with AOP cycles.
  • Define and manage inventory positioning globally across sites, distribution centers (DCs), and market levels, monitoring inventory health using KPIs such as Weeks of Supply (WOS) and Inventory Turns.
  • Identify, escalate, and mitigate supply risks, leading scenario planning and capacity simulations in collaboration with Network Planning.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Logistics, and Commercial teams to ensure seamless execution of the supply plan.
  • Oversee product performance end-to-end at Global and Local levels, partnering with Regional Supply Chain planners and tracking local market performance.
  • Maintain planning parameters in SAP IBP and ensure plan credibility, data accuracy, and process compliance.
  • Support the development of what-if supply scenarios to improve performance related to service levels and total costs.
  • Represent Global Product Supply Planning in PSCO and VST meetings.
  • Execute supply chain strategies defined by PSCOs and VST Leads.
  • Develop strong internal and external relationships with Demand Planning, Regional Supply Chain, Logistics, Sites, Finance, Quality, and Regulatory teams.
