About The Position

The Manager, Global Clinical Trial Operations provides leadership to assigned trial operations team members in support of global, cross-divisional clinical trials and related objectives for new products, product enhancements and process changes. This role is responsible for leading staff who support clinical site start-up, maintenance and closeout activities, including executing staffing plans, providing training and coaching, and fostering employee development. The manager collaborates with cross-divisional clinical leaders and partners with other departments to ensure clinical deliverables are achieved with the highest standards of quality, compliance and operational excellence. This position requires a collaborative and accountable leader who is committed to coaching and developing employees, fostering strong partnerships, and supporting a high-performing, inclusive team culture. Success in this role requires effective collaboration across regions, functions and divisions to achieve global clinical trial objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 7 years' U.S. and international clinical trial experience.
  • Experience leading people with direct or indirect oversight of individual contributors.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned clinical trial operations staff by providing training, mentoring, coaching, development and performance management in accordance with Boston Scientific policies.
  • Develop staffing plans, support hiring decisions and leverage appropriate resources to meet the needs of the Global Clinical Organization.
  • Partner with project managers, directors and other leaders to establish clinical function objectives and gather performance feedback.
  • Foster effective collaboration across global regions and functional groups to ensure alignment, consistency and successful execution of clinical trial activities.
  • Resolve interpersonal issues and support conflict resolution as needed.
  • Promote and implement best practices for study conduct across the Global Clinical Organization.
  • Identify and implement process improvements while supporting global harmonization across clinical functional teams.
  • Provide team metrics to evaluate performance and support organizational objectives.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of clinical research conduct, applicable laws, regulations, industry standards, Boston Scientific SOPs and company policies, while ensuring staff apply them appropriately.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, coach and mentor for vendors performing functional activities.
  • Determine, implement and execute vendor oversight activities for outsourced functional tasks.
  • Lead initiatives that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of clinical trial operational processes.
