About The Position

This role involves working closely with senior leaders and other members of the global Client Accounting team to provide accounting services to various client entities across Governance Services (Jersey, Guernsey, UK, and Cayman). The primary focus will be on delivering technically accurate accounts and periodic reports for a diverse portfolio of clients, including unit trusts, companies, partnerships, and foundations, by agreed deadlines. Key aspects of the role include client relationship management, mentoring and coaching accounting team members, and supporting global client administration colleagues. The variety of client types and technical accounting requirements offers excellent development opportunities.

Requirements

  • Qualified ACCA/ACA or qualified by relevant experience.
  • Good up-to-date technical knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS, including practical application.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal day-to-day supervision.
  • Able to manage and prioritize tasks, time, and people to meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage the day-to-day activities of staff reporting to you, ensuring work is planned and allocated to meet client requirements and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across all accounting locations, providing explanations, advice, and accounting support as needed.
  • Ensure work is completed efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Ensure timely updates of central accounts status records for deadline monitoring and reporting.
  • Adhere to policies and guidance on individual team member objective setting, performance reviews, and development plans.
  • Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements, including complex accounting work.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual reports.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date accounting records are maintained in client entity databases (Quickbooks, Viewpoint, and Yardi).
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of transactions and liaise with line management as required.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients, auditors, and third-party service providers.
  • Collaborate with client administration and other colleagues globally.
  • Ensure consistency of accounting service levels across all clients and address any identified issues promptly.
  • Act in accordance with the firm's policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate awareness of the integration of Governance Services across jurisdictions and with the law firm, operating in a unified, consistent, and coordinated manner.
  • Maintain Continuing Professional Development (CPD) levels required for the role and any professional bodies.
