About The Position

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for a Final Assembly Supervisor 2 to join their team in Sunnyvale, CA. This role involves leading a team responsible for the final assembly of unique systems for naval surface ships and submarines. The position focuses on ensuring the safety, quality, delivery, cost, and engagement of the team and product, while adhering to high company standards and collective bargaining agreements. The role requires a strong focus on people leadership, including accurate time and pay, a safe working environment, and efficient obstacle resolution. Flexibility to work weekends is necessary to support operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 8 years of experience; Master's with a minimum of 6 years of experience; PhD with a minimum of 4 years of experience (4 additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
  • Supervisory or team lead experience in an operations environment.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques.
  • The ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team directly responsible for the final assembly of one of these units.
  • Supervise a team of 10-15 mechanics, pipe fitters, painters, or electricians in their day-to-day work.
  • Take care of your team, your product, and ensuring all work is performed to Northrop Grumman’s high standards of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Engagement.
  • Ensure their time and pay are accurate.
  • Ensure they work in a safe environment, and their concerns are addressed.
  • Ensure the collective bargaining agreement is adhered to.
  • Ensure their assigned training is completed.
  • Address obstacles to performing work efficiently.
  • Address interpersonal issues quickly and at the lowest level.
  • Be flexible to work weekends to support operations as needed.
