Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • HACCP Certified Trained
  • BRC Advisor

Responsibilities

  • Plans, coordinates, and directs quality assurance program designed to ensure quality production of products consistent with established standards.
  • Develops, implements and maintains Quality Assurance Program and HACCP system.
  • Analyzes customer contact trends, production data, and develops strategies and programs for improved product safety quality and productivity.
  • Formulates and maintains quality assurance objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
  • Implements, maintains and ensures the integrity of the plant food safety and quality program.
  • Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
  • Organizes and conducts internal quality audits.
  • Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
  • Monitors the adequacy of food safety and quality plans with actions as needed.
  • Assists in verifying and investigating non-conformances.
  • Identifies and evaluates quality problems and recommends solutions.
  • Evaluates, verifies and reports the implementation of corrective and preventive action.
  • Ensures that needed resources are provided and training is completed for personnel performing quality related activities.
  • Reviews all data obtained during all quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures.
  • Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
  • Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
  • Prepares and presents technical and program information to the management team.
  • Directs technical and administrative workers engaged in quality assurance activities.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.
  • Plays an active role on quality management teams within the organization.
  • Designs and implements quality assurance training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers.
  • Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality.
  • Manages 5-12 Team Members in the Quality Assurance Department.
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training Team Members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Team Members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
