About The Position

The Manager, Fleet Operations is responsible for leading a nation-wide team of skilled technicians in an aggressive preventative maintenance repair program, including the maintenance of large, medium, and light duty vehicles, and other equipment to ensure a safe and efficient fleet. The Manager, Fleet Operations can be based out of any of the following offices: Marshalltown IA, Decatur IL, Harrisburg PA, Bargersville IN, Windham NH Company Overview With roots dating to 1891 and 8,500+ employees, MYR Group Inc. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a supervisory role
  • Extensive knowledge of fleet operations, principles, and best practices for a multi-facility, geographically dispersed service company with significant fleet resources
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive presence and presentation skills
  • Working knowledge of state and federal regulatory requirements, including DOT, FMCSA, EPA, and OSHA
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to plan and prioritize a wide range of tasks
  • Proven ability to work with others in creating and managing long term relationships and strategies
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Financial acumen and resource management knowledge and skills
  • Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with high attention to detail

  • CAFM or CEM certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage fleet strategy, planning, implementation, supply chain, analysis, reporting, and communication
  • Direct maintenance and fuel operations to include performance, standards, and vendor management
  • Assess fleet systems and data, and recommend development and management of systems
  • Gather, summarize, and present actionable information to management
  • Act as a strategic business partner with divisional leadership
  • Support the organization through analyses of fleet process capabilities
  • Provide support to the operations team regarding all equipment related issues
  • Conduct onsite inspections and auditing in specified regions
  • Develop fleet/vehicle/equipment training content aligned with fleet strategies and process development
  • Serve in advisory role on technological resources
  • Lead, educate, and develop employees
  • Monitor and analyze opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies
  • Perform administrative functions (e.g., payroll approvals, maintenance and compliance documentation, etc.)
  • Identify and monitor equipment sent to outside sources for repairs
  • Establish and maintain programs for preventative maintenance and recordkeeping
  • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
  • Provide clean, safe working conditions
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Other duties as assigned
