About The Position

The Manager, Financial Reporting and Consolidations, is a key member of the corporate Finance function, responsible for executing the monthly, quarterly and year-end consolidation and reporting processes that underpin the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of the company's internal management reporting and external financial reporting. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting, the role owns the day-to-day consolidation cycle, intercompany and elimination processes, currency translation, reporting packages and supporting working papers under both U.S. GAAP and IFRS Accounting Standards. The Manager coordinates closely with Controllership, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, regional Finance teams and mine site controllers to deliver decision-useful, well-controlled financial information to executive leadership and external stakeholders, supports the design, testing and operation of SOX internal controls over financial reporting in the close and consolidation cycle, and partners with internal and external auditors through interim reviews and the year-end audit. The Manager also leads, coaches and develops a small team of reporting accountants and drives continuous improvement in close cycle time, analytical content and reporting standardization across the group.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related discipline.
CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent professional accounting designation is required.
Six or more years of progressive financial reporting and consolidation experience, including hands-on responsibility for monthly, quarterly and year-end close in a multi-entity, multi-currency reporting environment; prior supervisory experience is preferred.
Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS Accounting Standards, including consolidation, intercompany elimination, foreign currency translation and revenue, with the ability to research and apply accounting standards to routine and non-routine transactions.
Practical working knowledge of SOX internal controls over financial reporting and experience supporting external audits and interim reviews.
Experience working in a publicly listed, multi-entity, international group; mining, natural resources or other asset-intensive industry experience is preferred.
Hands-on experience with consolidation tools (e.g., OneStream and/or HFM) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP) is strongly preferred.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including complex formulas, Power Query and pivot-based reporting); working knowledge of reporting tools (e.g., Power BI) is an asset.

Responsibilities

Lead the day-to-day monthly, quarterly and year-end consolidation process end-to-end, including legal-entity consolidation, intercompany eliminations, foreign currency translation, minority interest accounting, top-side adjustments and consolidation journal entries, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of consolidated results.
Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, supporting schedules and reporting packages for internal management reporting and external financial reporting purposes in accordance with U.S. GAAP and IFRS Accounting Standards, ensuring accuracy, completeness and consistency with group accounting policies.
Coordinate the financial close calendar across regional and mine site Finance teams, monitoring task completion, dependencies and resourcing, and proactively resolving issues that could put close milestones at risk.
Prepare and coordinate the financial reporting requirements for the Company’s Nevada joint venture under U.S. GAAP, including deliverables provided to joint venture partners and support for quarterly reviews and annual audits with external auditors, recognizing the joint venture’s status as a public business entity.
Prepare annual IFRS financial reporting deliverables and supporting documentation for the Company’s U.S. operations in connection with the IRS Compliance Assurance Process (CAP) program.
Prepare accounting memos and position papers for complex, non-routine or judgmental accounting matters.
Own the intercompany reporting process, including intercompany matching, reconciliations, investigation and resolution of differences, and elimination of intercompany revenue, costs, profit-in-inventory, receivables and payables on consolidation.
Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages for the Controller, CFO office, Audit Committee and other stakeholders, including consolidated income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, segment information, variance and flux analysis, and key performance metrics.
Perform and review variance and flux analysis on consolidated and entity-level financial statement accounts, ensuring period-over-period and budget-to-actual movements are well understood, documented and clearly communicated to Finance leadership.
Review and post consolidation and top-side journal entries, including reclassifications, accruals, equity pickups, currency translation adjustments and other consolidation adjustments, with appropriate documentation and review evidence.
Support the preparation of annual and interim financial statement footnotes, disclosures and supporting working papers, partnering with the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting on technical accounting and disclosure requirements under U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
Maintain and execute SOX internal controls over financial reporting within the consolidation and reporting cycle, including journal entries, account reconciliations, intercompany controls and management review controls, and support timely remediation of identified deficiencies.
Act as a primary liaison with external auditors for matters relating to the consolidation and reporting process, including preparation of PBC schedules, walkthrough support and responses to audit requests.
Ensure consistent application of group accounting policies across legal entities, regions and mine sites, escalating complex, non-routine or judgmental accounting matters to the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting for technical accounting consultation as appropriate.
Review account reconciliations and consolidation schedules prepared by reporting accountants and mine site Finance teams, identifying opportunities to improve standardization, efficiency and quality across the group.
Partner with Tax, Treasury, FP&A, Investor Relations and regional Finance leadership to provide consolidated financial information, analysis and support for strategic, financing, tax and disclosure-related initiatives.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the consolidation and reporting process, including financial close optimization, automation of manual schedules, standardization of templates and uplift of analytical content, partnering with the Financial Systems team on system-enabled improvements.
Support entity onboarding, divestments, restructurings, intercompany changes and other corporate transactions, ensuring consolidation structures, mappings, eliminations and reporting processes are updated accurately and timely.
Lead, coach and develop members of the reporting team, set clear objectives, provide technical and process coaching, performance feedback and career development support, and build bench strength within the reporting team.
Maintain clear and current documentation of consolidation procedures, accounting policies, controls and reporting processes to support audit readiness, training and operational continuity.
