About The Position

The FP&A Manager is responsible for leading the Company’s financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and analytical functions. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this role oversees the development of monthly forecasts, annual budgets, long-range planning models, and board-level financial presentations. The FP&A Manager leads a team of analysts and serves as a strategic financial partner to Operations, Merchandising, Fuel, and other departments to drive performance improvement, capital allocation decisions, and data-driven decision making.

Requirements

BA/BS degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, Data Analytics
3-6 years of experience
Experience in multi-unit retail, petroleum, or consumer-facing business preferred
Experience with ERP and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Oracle, SAP, etc.)
Statistical software advanced user knowledge
Proven track record leading and developing reporting infrastructure in high pace environment
Programming in SQL and VBA, adaptability for other languages
Strong understanding of retail economics and fuel pricing dynamics
Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth, multi-unit retail environment
High intellectual curiosity and ownership mindset
Ability to translate large data sets into concise executive insights
Strong financial modeling discipline and attention to internal controls
Strong leadership abilities, capable of managing resources under constraints, prioritizing, execution, coordination and managing relationships with senior leadership in the organization
Ability to work under pressure and to balance multiple tasks simultaneously with strict attention to detail and adherence to deadlines
Strong problem solving, organizational, and critical thinking skills

Responsibilities

Lead the preparation of monthly financial reporting packages, including variance analysis versus budget, forecast, and prior year, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and actionable insights.
Own and manage the monthly forecasting process, including rolling reforecasts, scenario modeling, and coordination with department heads to ensure alignment with operational realities.
Support the annual budgeting process by coordinating across departments, consolidating financial inputs, challenging assumptions, and ensuring timely completion.
Analyze key business drivers including fuel margin per gallon, inside gross margin, labor cost ratios, same-store sales, shrink, and operating expense trends, providing data-driven recommendations to improve profitability.
Develop and maintain financial models supporting greenfield investments, remodel projects, contract negotiations, and other capital allocation initiatives.
Conduct sensitivity and scenario analysis related to fuel price volatility, volume fluctuations, and margin compression.
Manage and mentor FP&A Analysts, including training, work review, prioritization of deliverables, and performance development.
Serve as the primary financial liaison to department heads, providing analytical support, performance reporting, and financial guidance.
Oversee and continuously improve reporting infrastructure, including automation initiatives leveraging SQL, VBA, BI tools, and large datasets to increase efficiency and scalability.
Coordinate cross-functional financial analysis for transformational projects across the organization, including: Tracking project progress and financial impact, Standardizing reporting cadence and deliverables, Supporting resource allocation decisions, Measuring realized value versus original business case, Acting as an analytical contributor to improve project outcomes.
Participate as an active value-add partner in strategic initiatives, contributing financial insight, modeling, and performance measurement to ensure disciplined execution.
Prepare executive-level summaries and presentation materials for senior leadership meetings and committees, with increasing exposure to board-level materials over time.
Support development of long-range financial planning models and assist in maintaining a forward-looking view of business performance.
