Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

C.A. FortuneChicago, IL
$115,000 - $130,000Hybrid

About The Position

This FP&A Manager - Brokerage & Emerging Business role is built for a high-potential Senior Financial Analyst or a junior-level Manager ready to step into a broader, more strategic FP&A seat. In its first phase, the FP&A Manager will not carry direct reports — the early focus is on developing deep fluency in our core brokerage business, our Build (emerging business) unit, and In-Store, and becoming the trusted financial partner to the executives who run them. As scope expands, so will the opportunity to build and lead a team. The company, C.A. Fortune, is a national consumer-centric integrated commerce agency built to help brands win at retail by delivering sales strategy, in-store execution, full-service marketing, and digital commerce. They are passionate, energetic, and motivated by helping brands win over customers and consumers, bringing together sales experts, marketers, e-commerce specialists, data analysts, and creatives with a shared mission. C.A. Fortune believes great people build great brands and aims to help brands of all sizes grow, compete, and lead.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business field; MBA or CPA highly preferred.
  • 5 - 8 years of progressive experience in FP&A experience, with demonstrated ownership of a full forecast/budget cycle — not solely report production.
  • Prior experience in an agency, brokerage, professional services, or CPG environment strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and communicate confidently with SVP- and executive-level stakeholders; this side of the business is entirely senior leaders, and professionalism and polish matter.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, including the ability to build, stress-test, and explain models under questioning.
  • Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning, Sage Intacct, and/or Salesforce a plus.
  • Strong critical thinking and business partnering orientation — comfortable challenging assumptions, connecting dots across data sources, and driving change rather than just executing tasks.
  • Ability and desire to operate independently in a fast-changing environment, ramp quickly, and manage ambiguity with limited guidance.
  • Has a strong sense of ownership for areas of responsibility and processes.
  • Meticulous, highly organized, and self-directed, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and competing deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the embedded FP&A lead for our core Brokerage business, Build (emerging business), and In-Store — owning forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and variance analysis for each.
  • Follow the standard finance calendar cadence: support month-end close in week one, then move into forecast development, business leader readouts, and ownership of recurring business reporting for the remainder of the cycle.
  • Partner directly with SVP- and executive-level business leaders to understand upcoming spend, business strategy, and organizational plans, translating that context into forecasts that reflect where the business is actually headed.
  • Proactively keep the VP Finance appraised of risks, opportunities, and in-flight updates — surfacing issues early rather than waiting to be asked.
  • Compare actual results to budget and forecast, identify root causes of variances, and bring forward actionable recommendations rather than just the numbers.
  • Build and own a suite of recurring business performance reports used by leadership to run their part of the business.
  • Build deep working knowledge of the brokerage commercial model and the economics of the Build and In-Store businesses specifically.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Commissions, Accounting, and Revenue Operations to ensure forecasts and reporting stay aligned across the business.
  • Conduct financial analysis of strategic initiatives to identify trends that should influence business decisions.
  • Prepare content for ongoing leadership and board-level reviews as needed.
