About The Position

Contributes to the overall success of the Finance Department in United States of America ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted follow current governing regulations, internal policies, and guidelines. The incumbent will have interactions with a broad range of professionals in U.S. Finance and stakeholders and will be expected to influence and educate them on source documentation requirements, process improvement, and internal controls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with good knowledge of technology.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in Internal Audit / Regulatory Reporting / Internal Controls testing of regulatory and financial reporting for financial institutions.
  • CPA designation or other relevant professional designations.
  • Attention to detail and strong organization and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrate an ability to learn and succeed in a fast-paced environment, exercise a high degree of initiative, independent judgement, and self-direction in a team working environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders across multiple functional areas of the Bank (Front office, Middle Office, Back Office, Credit Risk, Product Controls) to promote a robust control framework environment.
  • The role requires knowledge of regulatory and financial reporting including an awareness of emerging regulatory requirements impacting changes to available data. Specific knowledge of Federal Reserve regulatory reporting for foreign banking organizations.

  • This position is complex requiring a results-oriented individual with coaching & development and curiosity who has a high degree of understanding of banking businesses, internal controls / audit disciplines, knowledge of regulatory and financial reporting, balanced by an intrinsic understanding of the business lines. Must be able to understand business processes, evaluate the system of internal controls and support the integrity of regulatory and financial reporting on target, on time, and on budget.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in the context of a finance department of a banking organization with a product mix of securities, loans, and derivatives.
  • Excellent people skills are required to influence department and external stakeholders and to deliver results under tight deadlines and multiple priorities.

  • Understanding of FRB regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for design and execution testing plans to verify the adequacy of internal controls over financial reporting, including verifying controls at trade origination point, middle office, back office, and GL booking and reconciliations.
  • Responsible for design and execution of strategies and testing plans to verify the adequacy of controls over regulatory reporting; validation to source documents (transaction testing); and ensuring compliance with regulatory reporting instructions.
  • Perform SOX documentation updates.
  • Perform issue closure review by following up with issue owners, gathering closure supports, and conduct review of remediation actions.
  • Conduct effective walkthroughs/interviews with clients to understand the process and perform thorough field works for testing. Identify and determine the root cause of the weakness, make recommendations and present to stakeholders for remediations. Prepare finding reports on engagements performed for relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare management reporting on quality assurance and on operational metrics for U.S. Finance.
  • Assist in liaison with external auditors and regulator requests.
  • Maintain and facilitate update of group Policy and Procedure documentation.
  • Assist in other projects, as required.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
