About The Position
Sun Life’s Corporate Finance team is leading the journey of thinking and acting like a Digital company for the Global Finance community through a Finance Accelerator. Leveraging principles and values aligned with being a Digital Enterprise (DE), we have created a team to accelerate Finance’s digital journey. The Finance Accelerator’s purpose is to modernize Finance through process redesign and automation, establishing best practices, developing common tool platforms on an enterprise scale and applying data and analytics to inform, influence and tackle business problems. This role provides opportunities to further advance your skills and career in a great working environment, while taking on new exciting challenges and adopting the DE way of working with the first ever Accelerator in Finance. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong finance background, a genuine interest in process improvement and a passion to work with our dream team environment to deliver the best finance solutions to our business partners and clients. The in-depth involvement in designing and delivering innovative and evolutionary automation solutions provides the candidate with great opportunities in expanding their knowledge and network across functions and teams within the company while helping to shape the future of Finance processes.
Requirements
- Professional Accounting designation (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA) or relevant degree with 5-7 years of related industry experience
- Excellent communication written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to organize, prioritize and make decisions that require innovative thinking
- Knowledge of Agile process and principles (Kanban, Process design and Value optimization)
- Advance skills in using Excel (including Power Query) and knowledge of Macro/VBA, Power Automate, AI (Gen AI and Agentic AI) and Longview advantageous
- Excellent relationship management skills to service a diverse group of stakeholders and clients
- Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
- Creative thinker with a vision and a great desire to learn new skills
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project and create requirements that turn vision into value-added outcomes
- Independently assess and map current state processes within Finance to help identify solutions that address all root causes and meet business needs
- Lead the analysis and validation of financial and analytic results and testing effort for new developments to ensure solutions are delivered with the highest quality
- Effective and timely communications with internal clients, including engagement status, solutioning options, presentation of demo, recommendations, and outcomes
- Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals
- Provide backlog management and elaboration of user stories
- Responsible for identifying and tracking benefits of opportunities in our pipeline and delivered solutions to demonstrate value to our stakeholders
- Design and develop streamlined and value-added solutions leveraging technology (e.g. Excel, GenAI and Power Automate) that results in process optimization and/or efficiency
- Research and analyze market, the users, and the roadmap for the product
- Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends
