About The Position

Bristol Myers Squibb Company is hiring a(n) Manager, Field Platform – Backend Engineering (in Lawrenceville, NJ). This role involves working with offshore and onshore teams to design, build, and assemble technology components, prototype new functionalities, and strategize growth plans with leadership for final implementation. The position requires leading development streams, reviewing deployment plans in line with overall program timelines and milestones, and building reusable code and libraries for global harmonization. The role also includes leading architecture testing and application deployment for various business requirements, partnering with integration and testing teams to ensure end-to-end application functionality, and leading reviews, tracking, and fixing of defects or performance problems. Additionally, the role involves analyzing existing processes for improvement recommendations, connecting with peers across global delivery centers to ensure alignment with final delivery goals, and documenting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), solutions, and guidelines. The Manager will also ensure vendor engagements align with Service Level Agreements and other business requirements, and evaluate the impacts of change requests. Finally, the role requires providing technical expertise, guidance, and coaching to a technical team. Telecommuting is permitted up to 3 days per week.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Applied Computer Science, or a related field, and three (3) years of experience in related work experience.
  • Three (3) years of experience in building ETL/ESB integrations using AWS AppFlow, AWS Glue, MuleSoft, Informatica, or Veeva Vault Cloud
  • Three (3) years of experience in administrating databases including Oracle, Redshift, Neptune, and PostgreSQL
  • Three (3) years of experience in scripting using programming languages including Redhat Linux Shell Script, and Python
  • Three (3) years of experience in Application Programming Interface (API) hosting and consumption
  • Three (3) years of experience using the Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI/CD) processes and Agile methodologies in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • One (1) year in Generative Artificial Intelligence prompt engineering and vectorization.

Responsibilities

  • Work with offshore and onshore teams the design, build, and assemble technology components.
  • Prototype new functionalities and strategize growth plans with leadership for final implementation.
  • Lead development streams and review deployment plans in line with overall program timelines and milestones.
  • Build and leverage reusable code and libraries for global harmonization.
  • Lead architecture testing and application deployment for a variety of business requirements.
  • Parter with integration and testing teams to ensure applications are fully integrated and functional from end-to-end.
  • Lead reviews, tracking, and fixing of defects or performance problems discovered from testing.
  • Analyze existing processes to make improvement recommendations.
  • Connect with peers across global delivery centers to ensure all deliverables are aligned to the final delivery goals.
  • Document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), solutions, and guidelines for local and global teams.
  • Ensure vendor engagements are in line with Service Level Agreements and other business requirements.
  • Evaluate the impacts associated with change requests.
  • Provide technical expertise, guidance, and coaching to a technical team.
