About The Position

MACOM designs and manufactures semiconductor products for Data Centers, Telecommunication, Industrial and Defense applications. The Facilities Engineering Manager is responsible for planning, designing, maintaining, and improving facility infrastructure and engineering systems to ensure safe, reliable, compliant, and cost-effective operations. This role leads engineering projects, manages capital programs, and provides technical oversight of building systems while applying structured project management principles consistent with PMP standards. The position partners closely with Operations, EH&S, Finance, and external contractors to deliver projects on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7–10 years of facilities engineering and/or capital project experience
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office and database tools (SAP preferred)
  • PE license or equivalent certification
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent formal project management training
  • Experience with CMMS, BAS, and energy management systems
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or reliability engineering expertise
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, construction methods, and engineering standards
  • Prior facilities engineering semiconductor manufacturing experience
  • Experience managing contractors, consultants, and capital budgets
  • Experience with dangerous substances; including gases, solids, and liquids
  • Experience in hazardous waste management and wastewater treatment
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Facilities, or related discipline)
  • Some domestic travel required

Responsibilities

  • Manage facility systems throughout their lifecycle (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, building automation, utilities).
  • Ensure compliance with operational, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (OSHA, NFPA, codes).
  • Maintain engineering standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot complex facility and infrastructure issues.
  • Oversee operating and capital budgets for facilities.
  • Lead capital improvement and upgrade projects from start to finish.
  • Monitor project metrics and report status to leadership.
  • Analyze spending and performance to find cost-saving opportunities.
  • Assist with long-term facilities planning and capacity analysis.
  • Support energy management, sustainability, and cost reduction efforts.
  • Coordinate with operations, manufacturing, R&D, IT, security, and other teams.
  • Oversee contractor onboarding, safety, and evaluations.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop facilities staff
