Tallgrass Energy is currently in need of one Environmental Permitting Manager to join our Houston-based Capital Projects Team. This role will report directly to the Director of Environmental Permitting. The Manager-Environmental Permitting is responsible for the overall coordination of environmental permitting for the successful design and construction of processing facilities, pipelines, terminals, and associated infrastructure. This includes managing and coordinating internal resources and outside consultants who provide permitting services in line with requirements for various federal agencies and state historic preservation offices. The role ensures compliance with all other federal, state, and local requirements such as floodplain and storm water permitting. A key aspect of this position is formulating, planning, and executing complex permitting strategies that keep all impacted internal and external stakeholders aligned on project goals and objectives while ensuring scheduling and budgeting goals are maintained. The role involves communicating critical permitting details to the project team, understanding constructability concerns, and providing updates during project meetings. Collaboration with Commercial and Government Affairs groups is essential to ensure all parties are apprised of permitting needs and potential obstructions, and to formulate proactive contingency plans. The role also requires communication of project and permitting specifics with appropriate regulatory officials.
