This role directly engages in a team of teams manufacturing environment and reports directly to the VP of Operations. The site EHS Manager will lead the development, implementation, monitoring and maintenance of a comprehensive environmental, health and safety management system. The position is responsible for ensuring EHS compliance with all federal, state, local and company standards and regulations. The position will lead the integration of EHS in a team environment. In this role, you will be based at the new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility where we support the manufacturing of hydraulic actuators for today’s aircraft with some of the latest automated manufacturing technologies.

Requirements

  • Proficient in ensuring adherence to environmental, health, and safety laws and standards.
  • Skilled in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating potential EHS hazards within the organization.
  • Energize leadership by identifying issues, educating leaders and engaging leaders on appropriate actions.
  • Capable of leading and managing EHS teams to achieve operational objectives effectively.
  • Experienced in developing and implementing short-term and long-term EHS strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Adept at conducting performance appraisals, providing feedback, and managing team performance to meet EHS targets.
  • Competent in leading and teaching teams to conduct thorough investigations of EHS incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Expertise in designing and delivering EHS training programs to enhance employee awareness and compliance.
  • Skilled in adapting departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
  • Proficient in analyzing EHS data to identify trends, evaluate performance, and inform decision-making.
  • Excellent ability to convey EHS policies, procedures, and initiatives clearly to all organizational levels.
  • Motivated to give and receive feedback from member employees of all levels
  • This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be U.S. Persons within the meaning of the ITAR and EAR, or eligible to obtain all required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and/or the U.S. Department of Commerce. Responsibilities

  • Create and implement environmental, health, and safety policies to ensure regulatory compliance and organizational standards.
  • Manage and oversee the EHS team, providing guidance, support, and performance evaluations to achieve departmental objectives. In a flexible and cross-trained teaming environment, take a leadership role in sitewide decision making
  • Conduct and oversee EHS risk assessments, identify potential hazards, and develop strategies to mitigate health, safety and environmental risks.
  • Coordinate regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to EHS regulations, internal policies, and industry best practices.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive EHS training programs to enhance employee awareness, compliance, and safety practices. Ability to teach and coach others.
  • Deploy and monitor the effectiveness of an EHS Management system.
  • Engage leadership and drive actions to continuously improve the EHS Management system.
  • In partnership with the VP of Operations, lead the deployment and monitoring of fatal and serious injury prevention activities.
  • In partnership with site Human and Organizational Performance champions, lead the deployment and monitoring of effectiveness of the Human and Organizational Performance process.
  • Develop local systems to capture environmental sustainability data. Monitor trends and develop initiatives to improve.
