About The Position

The Manager, Engagement & Awards leads the strategy, operations, and implementation of ISPOR's awards and travel grant programs in support of the Society's mission and strategic priorities. This position manages the ISPOR Awards Council, including the Council Chair, seven committees, and approximately 35 volunteer leaders, ensuring effective governance, communications, and business operations. The role oversees the full awards lifecycle, including nominations and submissions, judging, promotion, winner and volunteer leader support, vendor coordination, awards materials, and ceremony development. This position also manages the ISPOR Travel Grant Program, which awards more than 100 grants annually to students, LMIC researchers, and patients across ISPOR's two flagship conferences. Working cross-functionally with the Executive Office, Marketing and Communications, Events, and Member Engagement teams, the Manager supports complex timelines, communication strategies, budget-aligned project execution, and onsite meeting needs. The role also leads engagement efforts related to communities and volunteer management and helps catalogue and communicate the global impact of ISPOR Awards activities in alignment with the ISPOR Strategic Plan 2030 and Amplify HEOR initiatives.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in business, health sciences, health policy, marketing, economics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive work experience.
  • Experience in a nonprofit membership/association, or related organization.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cultural awareness skills. Able to handle complex cultural situations diplomatically.
  • Persuasive verbal and written communication skills, including communicating with precision and effectiveness to drive execution and foster innovation across levels and functions.
  • Highly professional, customer/member service-driven, with evidence of effective communication with members and stakeholders from diverse geographical and cultural backgrounds.
  • Results- and detail-oriented.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, with the ability to learn new technology platforms.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to the mission of ISPOR
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States (U.S.) on a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a global scientific association or related group.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the ISPOR Awards Council, including the Council Chair, seven committees, and approximately 35 members, in the successful management of annual awards programs. Ensure the Council reflects a global, diverse, and representative cross-section of ISPOR and the HEOR field to guide the program's strategic direction. Manage Council governance, communications, and business operations.
  • Manage and lead implementation of the ISPOR Awards Program, including the design and delivery of comprehensive process timelines for candidate nominations and submissions, judging, promotion, winner and volunteer leader support, internal and external communications, production of awards materials with external vendors, and development of the awards ceremony. Coordinate and leverage cross-departmental resources, including the Executive Office, Marketing and Communications, Events, and Member Engagement, to execute the program effectively. Apply strategic insight to source high-quality award candidates for marquee awards, particularly the Impact and Donabedian Awards. Leverage project management tools such as Asana to maintain complex timelines and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Manage and oversee the ISPOR Travel Grant Program, including program direction, timeline management, and deadline adherence. Execute communication strategies to increase program visibility across key channels.
  • Catalogue and communicate the global impact of ISPOR Awards activities as they relate to the ISPOR Strategic Plan 2030 and Amplify HEOR initiatives.
  • Lead engagement efforts related to communities and volunteer management.
  • Assist in the development of business plans and budgets.
  • Manage projects and initiatives in alignment with approved budgets.
  • Provide onsite meeting support as needed.
