About The Position

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. As a Manager, Emerging Defense & Sustainment Sales, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Leads and coordinates engagement with emerging defense prime contractors Develop relationships at all levels of a key account, including executive and C-Suite Identifies, influences and leads mutual beneficial projects with emerging defense related opportunities Determines competitive share opportunities and creates plan to win share Develop and execute plans to deliver the strategic and operational plans for the accounts Willingness to be available for key account support This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position. Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws. U.S. Export Control laws and U.S. Government Department of Defense contracts and sub-contracts impose certain restrictions on companies and their ability to share export-controlled and other technology and services with certain "non-U.S. persons" (persons who are not U.S. citizens or nationals, lawful permanent residents of the U.S., refugees, "Temporary Residents" (granted Amnesty or Special Agricultural Worker provisions), or persons granted asylum. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Seven (7) years of experience selling and managing relationships with large and complex end user accounts in a private, public, government, or military environment
  • Experience in space, military or aerospace markets
  • Current, valid Driver’s License.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in business or technical from an accredited institution
  • Ten (10) years’ experience with strategic key account management
  • Experience and demonstrated success in representing technical products and materials
  • Demonstrated success in working with the US Department of Defense
  • Experience in negotiating and managing agreements
  • Demonstrated strong collaboration and networking skill set
  • Experience engaging with and influencing executive levels of organizations
  • Knowledge of 3M Company and technology
