Requirements

  • BS + 8 years of exp in related STEM field; MS + 6 years of exp.
  • Previous experience as a functional manager or technical team leader
  • Proficiency in C/C++, Object Oriented programming, and software lifecycle processes
  • Excellent written, communication, and emotional intelligence skills, and be able to work independently and within groups.
  • Ability to facilitate/mediate in conflict resolution matters.
  • Must have an active Secret Clearance
  • Candidate must be able to work on site at the Rancho Carmel facility.

Nice To Haves

  • MS in Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field, with 8 or more years of technical experience.
  • Previous experience managing managers.
  • Current direct program duties within the Communications Solutions (CS) Business Unit (BU), including F-22, F-35, CNI, and Advanced Communications.
  • Experience integrating low-level firmware and software in complex real-time multi-threaded embedded applications
  • Experience with RTOS designs and implementing secure software for embedded systems
  • Experience with ARM architecture and peripherals
  • Experience using Jira/Bitbucket/Git and the Agile software development process
  • Experience with Communication Protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, PCIe, Ethernet)
  • Experience with Networking protocols (IPSec, TLS)
  • Experience with TCP/IP and common network configurations
  • Experience implementing cryptographic mechanisms using dedicated software libraries (wolfSSL)
  • Familiarity with Linux kernel driver development/modifications
  • Familiarity with assembly language
  • Familiarity with bare metal embedded device drivers
  • Familiarity with PowerPC architectures and peripherals
  • Familiarity with VHDL/Verilog/FPGA
  • Familiarity with Xilinx tools (Vitis, Vivado)
  • Familiarity with IBM tools (Rhapsody, DOORS, Clearcase)
  • Familiarity with Green Hills AdaMulti
  • Familiarity with Static Analysis and Unit Testing
  • Top Secret and SAR highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead direct report employees based on organizational goals, program activity, and company policies.
  • Coordinate with programs for staffing, recruiting, and training.
  • Prepare and deliver performance reviews to employees.
  • Evaluate and recommend employees for promotions.
  • Evaluate salaries and coordinate with Human Resources on potential adjustments.
  • Assist employees in preparing performance goals.
  • Provide career guidance to employees and counsel employees on their performance as necessary.
  • Support and be accountable for goals including cultivating an inclusive and engaging workplace and ensuring employees’ work-life balance is appropriate.
  • Maintain staff adequate to execute to program plans, as well as for strategic growth.
  • Plan assignments and fill program staffing demands to ensure success, but which also offer growth to the individuals performing the work.
  • On an ongoing basis engage with staff to identify growth opportunities, deficiencies, appropriate training, etc.
  • Execute to the Enterprise review cycle.
  • Manage compensation and career progression.
  • Support the creation, updating, and maintenance of software engineering processes.
  • Work approximately 80% directly on programs involving communications systems within our Fighter Networked Systems (FNS) and Advanced Comms & Networks (ACN) operating units (OU), representing our Engineering and Sciences organization.
