About The Position

In this leadership position, you will be the driving force behind a specialized team of 8-10 Electrical NPI Engineers. Your role is highly collaborative; you will serve as the technical bridge between our internal Hardware and Mechanical Engineering leaders and our external Contract Manufacturing (CM) partners. By working closely with Engineering, Product Ops Managers and various cross-functional teams, you will ensure that our High Performance, High Layer Count PCA designs are successfully translated into high-volume production readiness. This is a highly technical, hands-on Engineering role focused on New Product Introduction (NPI) involving the design of advanced SMT PCBs and their manufacturability. As the Manager of Electrical NPI Engineering, you will lead a specialized team responsible for successfully introducing complex electrical designs from prototype to high-volume manufacturing. You are the primary technical bridge between design engineering and our manufacturing partners, ensuring design for manufacturability, reliability, and quality are integrated throughout the product lifecycle. You will oversee each product design identifying DFM improvements in the early concept and prototype stages of development, supporting HWDE’s, SI and CAD layout engineers with the product introduction into our contract manufacturers. Knowledge of advanced manufacturing process, understanding high layer count PCB’s and their advanced PCB structures and design methodology, heavily emphasizing SMT and complex high-layer-count PCB assembly, and leading continuous improvement to boost yields and scalability.

Requirements

BS/MS in Electrical Engineering Preferred, Manufacturing Engineering acceptable with proper engineering experience.
10+ years of experience in NPI engineering, specializing in Advanced SMT, High Layer Count PCB assembly (30+ layers), Prototype as well as Production level DFM.
Working knowledge and experience with PLM systems (Agile, Propel preferred) and ECO/MCO/DEV/PCN processes a must.
Strong background in debugging circuits on the bench, troubleshooting, failure / root cause analysis and 8D methodology.
Excellent leadership, mentoring, problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

PCA Design / Layout experience a PLUS!!
5+ years of experience leading an electrical NPI manufacturing engineering team.
Experience with large form-factor BGA components, high layer count advanced PCB structures, and liquid cooled products desired.
Knowledge of data center equipment lifecycle management, PCB and component level coordination, from new product introduction through Production, and end of life.
Experience reviewing PCB layout files in Allegro, or other viewers

Responsibilities

Drive new PCA designs with HW Engineering identifying and resolving DFM for SMT, PCB assembly, and system integration.
Optimize complex, high-layer count PCB manufacturing, including advanced structures and large BGAs.
Oversee process validation, troubleshooting, and failure analysis.
Support NPI from prototype to full production and end of life.
Manage ECOs and version control using PLM systems (Propel).
Lead continuous improvement in yield, cost, and quality.
Develop best practices for SMT and PCB assembly, ensuring compliance with IPC/regulatory standards.
Collaborate cross-functionally and with supply chain/procurement for efficiency and optimized inventory.
