About The Position

The Manager, Electrical Engineering is responsible for leading a team of Electrical Engineers and supporting the planning, research & development, and execution of engineering development tasking on pursuits, programs, and internally funded projects. Responsible for functional requirements of staffing (manpower/resource planning), recruiting, training, talent development, engagement, and retention of employees. Proactively collaborates with functional and business leadership teams to support business and program requirements and demands. The role is hands-on, requiring regular technical engagement on programs, and taking on individual tasking as needed. Requires ability to communicate with leadership regarding matters of importance to the function or business area. May conduct briefings with senior leaders.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or comparable discipline with a minimum 9 years of prior relevant technical experience; or Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience, in lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in supervising, leading, and developing engineering personnel.
  • Experience with electrical engineering development lifecycle.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD. Secret Clearance.

  • Active Secret clearance.
  • LTSpice, Cadence/Allegro PCB Designer, Mentor Graphics, VHDL and Verilog using Xilinx Vivado.
  • Proficiency in EVMS, Control Account Management and design team leadership.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Works well with management, peers and direct reports.
  • Proficient in technical writing to include specifications, technical proposals and white papers, design reviews and technical presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Leads Electrical Engineering development efforts, managing technical scope, and delivering to technical, cost, and schedule objectives
  • Provide technical direction and oversight to individuals on the engineering team and to program teams, insuring high standards of technical competence and achievement.
  • Oversee a team of engineers responsible for architecting, designing, developing, modifying, evaluating and integrating electronic circuit cards, electronic parts, components, or integrated circuitry for complex, high performance seabed hydrophone systems.
  • Direct involvement in leading and contributing to Analog and Digital designs of circuit cards including layout using industry standard tools such as LTSpice, Cadence, Mentor Graphics and Vivado.
  • Responsible for providing input to program bids and generating bases of estimate.
  • Provides support to qualification and test of electrical hardware and systems including the support of customer site installations and troubleshooting. Travel to customer installation sites as required.

  • Manage and direct the day-to-day activities of the Electrical Engineering team and make individual work assignments.
  • Monitor individual performance and prepare formal performance assessments.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to management and customers.
  • Able to obtain and maintain a US Secret security clearance.
  • Travel 1 to 2 weeks per month at the onset, for a period of up to 6 months.
